HILMIYYAH

Our first baby was born on 23rd July 2003,  03:13 pm at Hospital USM Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.

The baby was delivered through an operation;caesarian section after having sudden pre-eclampsia at 32 weeks of pregnancy. Actually, I have symptoms such as giddiness,nausea and headache one day before though my blood pressure checked at the casualty was only marginally raised. Even though my hubby is a doctor, he did not realize that actually I was having pre-eclampsia. I was admitted to the labour room after consulting Dr Nik Hazlina(now Assoc.Prof). Medication was given continuosly through a running drip. A doppler ultrasound performed showing markedly reduce blood flow to the baby, therefore, a decision to operate on me urgently was made to save the baby. Anaesthetic drug was given via an injection into my spine. No wonder the blood flow to the baby was limited as there was 3- times umbilical cord round neck. Fortunately, Hilmiyyah was still okay. Since she was born prematurely, her weight was only 1.8kg.
